Saylor Tells Bloomberg the Bitcoin Bottom Is In, Then Does the Math on a $19 Million Coin

Michael Saylor sat down with Bloomberg Television on October 13 and declared bitcoin's year-long slide finished, pointing back toward six figures and, by his own longstanding math, toward numbers far beyond that over the next two decades.
THE BOTTOM, ACCORDING TO SAYLOR
"We hit the bottom around slightly below $60,000," Saylor said, adding that bitcoin "will march forward from here." Strategy's executive chairman described the last twelve months as a contraction that has now given way to a new bull phase, with the price having climbed back into the $80,000s. He described the situation as the beginning of a new bull market, though he set no deadline for a return above $100,000.
He did not dodge the number entirely. "I think that it should definitely move back into the six figures, back beyond $100,000," Saylor said, adding that "our long-term forecast is Bitcoin grows 20 to 30% a year over the next twenty years." Asked directly whether that meant by year end or by the middle of next year, he deflected, saying he does not trade short term and that Strategy makes its plans in centuries.
THE CAPITAL STACK, IN SAYLOR'S OWN WORDS
The more interesting part of the interview wasn't the price call. It was Saylor laying out, in plain terms, where each piece of Strategy's product lineup is supposed to sit in an investor's portfolio. If an investor needs their money back within three months, he said, that money belongs in a money market fund. For a three-month to four-year horizon, he pointed to digital credit products like STRC. For anyone who doesn't need the money for four-plus years and wants to minimize counterparty risk, the answer is bitcoin itself, which he said should return somewhere in the 20% to 30% annual range. For equity investors chasing even more upside, he pointed to the digital equity of companies like Strategy or Strive, which he said can outperform bitcoin itself through amplified exposure.
WHAT 20% TO 30% A YEAR ACTUALLY MEANS AT $100,000
Saylor's 20-to-30% annual growth figure isn't new. What is new, and what the hosts of Simply Bitcoin Live worked through live on air, is running that rate forward for two decades starting from a $100,000 bitcoin. At a 20% compound annual growth rate, $100,000 becomes roughly $3.8 million per coin after 20 years, a multiple of about 38 times. At 30% a year, the same starting point compounds to roughly $19 million per coin, a multiple of about 190 times.
Those numbers are the show's own arithmetic applied to Saylor's stated growth range, not a figure Saylor used himself in the interview. He has previously floated far larger numbers at Bitcoin conferences, including a $42 million-per-coin, 21-year projection. The 20% to 30% range is also roughly in line with what Saylor has cited as bitcoin's realized annual growth over the past six years, which the hosts put at around 38%.
THE CONTEXT: AN 848,250 BTC TREASURY
Strategy is the largest institutional holder of bitcoin, and as of October 11 the company held 848,250 BTC, roughly 4% of bitcoin's total supply. When bitcoin slipped just below $60,000, that stack traded underwater against Strategy's average cost; with the price back in the $80,000s, it sits above cost basis again. Saylor's forecasts leaned on improving regulatory conditions, accelerating bank adoption, and the growth of tokenized securities and digital credit products.
The one line that got buried in the Bloomberg segment, according to the hosts, was Saylor noting that he thinks in centuries rather than quarters. For a publicly traded CEO who can't go on television and throw out aggressive short-term price targets, that framing does double duty: it's both a disclaimer and a blueprint. Buy bitcoin, hold it, and let the compounding happen on a timescale measured in decades rather than news cycles.
