Bitcoin ETFs Just Had Their Best Week Since October, and Bloomberg Noticed

While the debate over who is buying bitcoin plays out, one data point just landed that answers part of the question: the ETFs are back, and Wall Street's own ETF watcher is the one saying so.

THE NUMBER FROM BLOOMBERG

Eric Balchunas, Bloomberg's senior ETF analyst, laid out the flow data on his own account this week. Bitcoin ETFs took in about $2 billion last week, marking their best week since October 2025. Bitcoin climbed rapidly from $64,000 to $77,000 during that stretch.

Balchunas framed the move as evidence of a structural supply squeeze rather than a one-off event, pointing to bitcoin's fixed supply as the reason inflows translate into sharp price moves. That is a notably different tone than the "outflow noise" framing he used earlier in the summer, when bitcoin was still working through a 50% drawdown.

THE MEDIA TONE HAS SHIFTED

The bigger story, according to Simply Bitcoin's read of the segment, is not the flow number itself. It is that a mainstream financial network is delivering that number with an unmistakably bullish framing. For years, positive bitcoin coverage on corporate financial television was rare and usually came wrapped in a caveat from a skeptic. That pattern has been breaking down across CNBC, Fox Business, and Bloomberg's own programming in recent months.

The show's argument is about persuasion, not just information. Viewers who have built trust in a given analyst's judgment over years are more likely to act when that analyst turns bullish, and a string of positive touch points from familiar, credible faces carries more weight than a single hot take.

THE ONE HOLDOUT

Not every recognizable name has come around. Jim Cramer's bitcoin calls remain a running joke among bitcoiners precisely because they have tended to line up against where the price goes next, and the show treated his latest bearish comment as another data point in that pattern rather than a signal worth following.

Balchunas's numbers do not resolve the standing question of whether this inflow streak holds up or fades like the "cool summer" stretch he referenced on air. But for a market that spent months being told institutional demand had dried up, a $2 billion week is the kind of concrete number that is hard to argue with.
